Resource Recovery

Resource recovery is the separation and consolidation of material disposed of as waste, such as beneficial re-use recycling energy recovery.

The benefits of resource recovery are diverse and include the conservation of natural resources, reduced energy consumption, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and finally, a reduction in production costs by returning usable materials to industry.

Government policies in all Australian states and worldwide aim to promote effective resource recovery as a more sustainable practice than those of land-filling or incineration of waste materials.

Central Waste Station is a leader in resource recovery in the Hunter Region, serving Newcastle, Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton, Port Stephens and the Central Coast. We receive mixed construction and demolition (C&D) as well as commercial and industrial (C&I) waste and recover a range of materials including:

  •  Steel

  •  Stainless Steel

  •  Copper

  •  Plasterboard

  •  Clean Wood

We have constructed a state-of-art Resource Recovery Plant that enables us to recover over 90% of the material originally found in the mixed waste.

We receive waste from the construction and demolition industries, other waste companies, local governments and from a wide range of businesses and residential customers who hire our own skip bins. By utilising our services, our clients not only benefit from cost effective and convenient waste disposal service, but can also rest assured that their waste is being managed in the most sustainable manner possible.
